Goodbye New York, Welcome to Newark New Jersey!
We’ve officially left the bright lights and endless honking of New York City behind us and made it to Newark.

Founded in 1666 (which makes it older than the United States itself), Newark was one of America’s earliest Puritan settlements. These were people who didn’t believe in fun—but somehow ended up building a city that would become an industrial and cultural heavyweight.

By the 1800s, Newark was booming with leather factories, breweries, and even some of the first celluloid film production. If it could be made, bottled, tanned, or mildly dangerous, it probably happened here.

And the people? Newark has produced legends like

Shaquille O’Neal—NBA superstar, Queen Latifah—hip-hop royalty and actress, Sarah Vaughan—jazz legend with a voice smooth enough to make traffic disappear.

Newark Liberty International Airport on your right is one of the busiest and oldest airports in the United States. Opened in 1928, Newark was one of the first major airports serving the New York metropolitan area and has since become a vital hub connecting millions of travelers worldwide.

The “Liberty” in its name honors the nearby Statue of Liberty, symbolizing freedom and welcoming travelers to the New York region. Newark Liberty serves as a major base for several airlines and offers nonstop flights to countless domestic and international destinations.

Beyond flights, the airport’s location near major highways and rail lines makes it a crucial transportation hub. It has a rich history of innovation in aviation, including early jet service and cutting-edge terminal renovations designed to handle growing passenger demands.

So whether you’re arriving or departing, Newark Liberty International Airport stands as a gateway to the hustle and bustle of New York City and beyond — a first or last taste of the vibrant Northeast corridor.

Elizabeth, New Jersey – Where History and Shipping Containers Collide
Welcome to Elizabeth, New Jersey—one of the oldest and most underrated cities in the state. Founded in 1664, Elizabeth was once the capital of New Jersey before Trenton stole the spotlight. It’s got history, hustle, and just enough attitude to make it interesting.

During the American Revolution, Elizabeth was a hot zone. British troops landed here, patriots rallied here, and George Washington probably rode through wondering where he could grab a decent ale.

But Elizabeth isn’t just about powdered wigs and muskets—it’s a city of firsts. Ever hem a pair of pants? Thank Elizabeth. It was the birthplace of the Singer sewing machine, a game-changer in homes, factories, and future episodes of Project Runway.

Today, Elizabeth is home to Port Newark-Elizabeth, one of the largest container ports in the U.S. That sea of colorful metal boxes you see? That’s international commerce in action. Elizabeth moves stuff—fast.

The city is also a cultural mosaic, packed with communities from all over the world. The result? A food scene that’ll make your GPS reroute for empanadas, jerk chicken, and Portuguese pastries all in the same square mile.

Famous folks out of Elizabeth include:

Tom Colicchio, the “Top Chef” judge who definitely wouldn’t eat gas station snacks.

Judy Blume, beloved author who helped generations of kids understand growing up—and awkward conversations with parents.

So while Elizabeth might look like a blur from the highway, behind the exit signs is a city full of grit, heart, and stories you’d never expect.
