La cathédrale Saint-David.
Juste là, sur le coin à gauche, vous apercevez la cathédrale Saint-David, le principal lieu de culte anglican de Tasmanie. Ce superbe édifice de style néo-gothique date du XIXe siècle et rythme la vie religieuse et citoyenne de Hobart depuis des générations.

En passant devant, jetez un œil à sa superbe façade en grès et à ses arches gothiques pointues. Elle doit son nom à saint David, le patron du Pays de Galles.

Et sur votre droite, voici Franklin Square, l'un des plus anciens squares de la ville. Au milieu trône la statue de Sir John Franklin. Il a été lieutenant-gouverneur de la Terre de Van Diemen — l'ancien nom de la Tasmanie — avant de devenir célèbre pour sa tragique expédition à la recherche du passage du Nord-Ouest dans l'Arctique canadien.

Musée maritime de Tasmanie, Ingle Hall
Tournez à gauche. Mais avant ça, sur votre droite, voici le Musée maritime de Tasmanie. Ici, le lien historique entre Hobart et la mer prend vie : des pirogues autochtones aux explorations européennes, en passant par la chasse à la baleine, la construction navale et les industries maritimes.

Et à gauche, c'est Ingle Hall, bien plus petit mais super ancien. Datant de 1814, c'est l'un des plus vieux bâtiments de Hobart, un rare témoin du temps où cette ville coloniale était encore toute jeune et un peu brute de décoffrage.

Taking a UCPlaces tour is fun and easy.

Whenever you approach a point of interest (POI) on the tour, our app will automatically play the relevant audio story at the right time and place.
If you start the tour before reaching the first POI, the app will navigate you to the starting point and then begin the tour.

Though you may run into unexpected obstacles (the world is constantly changing), our app has multiple features and mechanisms in place to help you overcome them, including: AI assistance, force play an audio if you can't reach the stop, skip or return to stops, automatic rerouting and more.
