¡Arrancamos nuestro recorrido en Main Street, cruzando justo por el corazón del centro histórico de Branson! Este es el lugar donde empezó todo, mucho antes de los teatros, las atracciones gigantes y las luces brillantes que hicieron famosa a la ciudad.

A finales del siglo diecinueve, este era solo un pueblito de los Ozarks que atendía a granjeros, comerciantes y viajeros que cruzaban el sur de Misuri. La llegada del tren ayudó a Branson a convertirse en un vibrante centro comercial, y muchas de las fachadas de ladrillo que ven hoy datan de principios del siglo veinte.

A diferencia de la zona de entretenimiento que visitaremos más tarde, el centro de Branson conserva ese encanto de pueblo chico. Echen un vistazo a las tienditas locales, cafés y edificios históricos a ambos lados de la calle. Nos recuerda que, antes de ser la "Capital Mundial del Entretenimiento en Vivo", Branson era solo una acogedora comunidad de los Ozarks.

Dick's 5&10: tradición de Branson
Pasando el semáforo, miren a su izquierda para ver uno de los lugares más emblemáticos de Branson: Dick's 5 & 10.

Y ojo, que no es una simple tienda de recuerdos. Desde que abrió en 1961, Dick's se ha vuelto toda una institución en Branson, llenando más de 50,000 pies cuadrados con de todo: desde dulces de antes y juguetes clásicos, hasta utensilios de cocina, artesanías, coleccionables y tesoros nostálgicos.

El nombre "5 & 10" es un viaje al pasado, a las viejas tiendas de variedades donde las cosas cotidianas costaban solo cinco o diez centavos. Aunque esos precios ya son historia, el espíritu de esas clásicas tiendas de "todo a centavo" sigue vivo aquí.

Si tienen tiempo después del tour, vale la pena entrar. Aunque no compren nada, caminar por sus pasillos es como retroceder a una época más simple de la cultura estadounidense.

Taking a UCPlaces tour is fun and easy.
Download the app (Android or iOS), purchase the tour (either here on the website, or from within the app).
That's it, you're ready to go!

UCPlaces acts as your personal tour guide, providing self-guided audio tours fully navigated within our app using GPS-based navigation. You won't need to switch between external navigation apps.
Whenever you approach a point of interest (POI) on the tour, our app will automatically play the relevant audio story at the right time and place.
If you start the tour before reaching the first POI, the app will navigate you to the starting point and then begin the tour.

The app is your tour-guide, it needs to know where you are located on the map to be able to trigger the points of interest. It also needs access to audio and media files to provide you with this experience.

We have been working hard to deliver a great experience. Though you may run into unexpected obstacles (the world is constantly changing), our app has multiple features and mechanisms in place to help you overcome them, including: AI assistance, force play an audio if you can't reach the stop, skip or return to stops, automatic rerouting and more.
