Welcome to Georgetown, the nation’s oldest Catholic and Jesuit University. Today Georgetown is a progressive, diverse community committed to social justice with a holistic approach to education.

This tour will help you get to know this beautiful campus nestled right here in the heart of Washington, DC.

Before we begin, let me briefly explain how UC Places works.

It uses your location to play audio automatically, at the right time and place.

Every time you reach a POI, I will automatically narrate that location. If you can see on the map that you're in the right spot but the audio isn't playing, give it a few seconds. Usually the gps will find you. If it doesn’t, you can always play the audio automatically, and if you wish to replay the audio for any POI, simply use the audio control buttons on the screen bottom.

So who is the founder of Georgetown University? It’s this guy! Archbishop John Carroll. George Washington actually gave John Carroll a grant for him to open Georgetown University, which by the way, is the first Catholic University in the United States.

See the huge clock tower to your left? That’s Healy Hall. Go ahead and meet me right in front of that tower.

How to take a UCPlaces tour
Taking a UCPlaces tour is fun and easy.
Download the app (Android or iOS), purchase the tour (either here on the website, or from within the app).
That's it, you're ready to go!
When you want to start the tour, find the tour in the app (via a quick in-app search or by clicking the tour link received in your confirmation email) and click "Start Tour" (headphones recommended for best experience.)
* After purchasing a tour you will receive a purchase confirmation email including the tour link and instructions on how to take the tour, so you don't have to remember anything now.
How does the tour work?
UCPlaces acts as your personal tour guide, providing self-guided audio tours fully navigated within our app using GPS-based navigation. You won't need to switch between external navigation apps.
Whenever you approach a point of interest (POI) on the tour, our app will automatically play the relevant audio story at the right time and place.
If you start the tour before reaching the first POI, the app will navigate you to the starting point and then begin the tour.
